Background
In order to remain compliant with the UK’s switch off of 3G, some of our equipment needs upgrading from 3G/4G to 4G/5G, along with software updates.
It is therefore proposed and planned to perform these upgrades on Sunday 20th July 2025.
Systems sending outbound emails will have SMS deliveries delayed during this period. All SMS texts will still go out, just later in the day.

14/07/2025 Parts arrived.
20/07/2025 Outage will start at 21:00.
20/07/2025 Outage started.
20/07/2025 We have an issue where the firmware of the new SMS “modem” device is not being detected.
20/07/2025 We will have to revert to the old equipment and investigate our options.
21/07/2025 Service resumed with the old hardware.
21/07/2025 Alternate hardware ordered.
22/07/2025 Parts arrived.
22/07/2025 Alternate parts work a treat.
22/07/2025 Service resumed with the new hardware.
Notes
There was not needed an outage on the 22nd July because the software had already been upgraded, and the hardware is plug and play allowing both the old and new hardware to be active at the same time.
