31/05/2024 Reported Issue Inbound Email

Users have reported an inbound issue with emails that all are getting errors “530 replaying not allowed”.  We are looking into the issue.

11:01 Users reporting no inbound emails.

11:05 Initial (incorrect) thoughts we a stalled inbound mail queue.

13:30 None of our domains are allowing inbound routing because the domain config files are empty.

14:41 Found the old program “ssm-makedomains” outputting empty values.

14:45 This program relies on an expiry date of “2024-04-31”  There are not 31days in April..!  This was causing the database read to fail and hence creating the empty files.

14:55 A temporary patch to this program is being tested and hopefully inbound emails fixed in the next 15 – 20 minutes.

15:08 A temporary patch has been applied and inbound email is now flowing.

15:13 As this program has been in production for over 10 years, we can’t see why this is evaluating dates incorrectly.

15:39 Users may need to request the resending of emails.
