07/07/2023 Dublin Ireland Network Maintenance

For Information Only: All services will be failed over to other country locations – this is for information only.

Our Irish network provider has decided to expedite a number of network upgrades that directly affect some of our circuits in the Dublin. In Dublin not all of our circuits depend on this provider.

The provider is scheduling these maintenance actions like they are an emergency because they feel the upgrades are that critical. We have asked for more specifics about the upgrades but were only told that they included new hardware and upgraded software that provides critical improvements spanning from security to resiliency.

In the hours since we were made aware we have escalated these events to management only to be told they are something that must happen. Although they did delay the Dublin actions to provide us slightly more notice we were unable to get any further change. As it stands today these actions are scheduled as listed below. We will notify you again should there be any additional changes.

  • July 7th starting at 23:00 GMT they will start a 6 hour maintenance window for the Dublin area. During this maintenance we have been told to expect a number of short interruptions in internet connectivity.
  • July 9th starting at 23:00 GMT they will start a 6 hour maintenance window for the Dublin area. During this maintenance we have been told to expect a number of short interruptions in internet connectivity.

This provider has been a long term solid partner for the past 7 years and has never had more than two maintenance periods in a year. Their management assures us that these actions are necessary to deliver top service to all their customers and that once these actions are completed that level of stability will resume.
